Episode 17 is here and there is a lot to talk about. First up we have a statement from EA about loot boxes in Battlefront 2, and to be honest I don’t think it says much. They heard the feedback and are making changes. I think this close to launch it would nice to know what we are buying. It’s possible that I’m not patient enough and I should give them time to figure that out also.
Second, EA shut down Visceral, they were working on a single player Star Wars project. Is any game safe, I figured with Star Wars being as big as it ever has been in this generation a Star Wars game would be a sure fire hit. Looks like the longevity of the game didn’t fit with the games with a service model. https://kotaku.com/ea-shuts-down-visceral-games-1819623990
Also Activision files a patent aimed to manipulate matchmaking to make us want to buy more stuff because other players have cool stuff. https://kotaku.com/top-video-game-companies-wont-stop-talking-about-games-1795663927
Join us as we try to predict how this changing climate will affect Anthem, will it make it to release, will it be canceled like Scalebound or Star Wars (probably not)
